For people with disabilities, mental retardation and mental illness, having a job means not only improving their financial condition but more importantly raising their feelings of self-worth. Employment is a kind of therapy and can also improve overall health. The Supported Employment Program for People with Disabilities, Mental Retardation and Mental Illness is an attempt to address these important problems.
Expected program results:
- training job coaches,
- job placement of clients ready to start work,
- making contacts with future employers,
- employment for the person with disabilities and individual on-going support of the employee by the job coach.
